Sepha, based in Newtownards Co. Down, stands for 'Selected Pharmaceutical' and has existed for 25 years. It is an innovative manufacturer of packaging equipment to the global pharmaceutical industry supplying products for blisterpacking, deblistering and the detection of leaks in blister packs:

* Blistering - Sepha has developed the EZ Blister as a niche product for research & development and clinical trials departments as well as low volume producers requiring a flexible, high quality machine.
* Deblistering - Sepha is a market leader in the recovery process of deblistering. Deblistering is the process of removing product from packaging without damage to the product or contaminating the product with packaging waste.
* Leak Detection - Sepha has enjoyed particular success with its non-destructive pharmaceutical blisterpack leak detection equipment. This product removes the need for costly destructive testing of tablets contained in blister packs. The company is now focusing on improving the ability of pharma companies to use this technology at speed within their manufacturing lines, thus bringing the possibility of 100% inspection nearer.

It exports all of its products to a prestigious customer base throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas in the multi-million pound pharmaceutical industry. The company has sold to 96 of the top 100 pharmaceutical companies in the last 5 years including GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Eli Lilly.

Enterprise Equity backed a Management Buy-Out (MBO) of the company in November 2005.
