Founded in 1989, Bittware Inc, based in Concord, New Hampshire, is the leading supplier of TigerSHARC ® and SHARC ® based DSP boards.

It utilises this Analogue Devices’ technology to provide innovative standard and application-specific solutions for high performance, real time signal processing applications. It addresses the OEM’s needs from prototype through to production and will accommodate a variety of platforms. The company targets the most complex end of the market and is particularly focused on wireless communications, industrial instrumentation and military applications.

In 2004, Bittware acquired EZ-DSP Limited. This was a spin-out company from the University of Ulster which developed software for TigerSHARC ® processors. The acquisition significantly strengthened Bittware’s position as a market-leading producer of standard (COTS) embedded computing solutions for the military/defence, government and commercial markets.

The company recently announced that 2004 was its most successful year in its 16 years of operation. Sales, bookings and profits all exceeded the growth projections, which came on top of a previous record year in 2003. Bittware expects this growth to continue in 2005 through new design wins and the ramp up of production of earlier design wins.
